SLCHUG March 2017 Workshop Recap

You wanted a user group - now you got a user group!

As much as everyone seems to like the SLCHUG big events, which tend to focus on bigger topics and overarching marketing strategies, Doc and I have always heard requests to do something more HubSpot-intensive.

After all, part of building a user group around a tool should involve some serious deep dives around that tool, right?

Last week, about 50 of us gathered at HireVue HQ (what a stinkin' cool office, by the way) in Sandy for the first-ever SLCHUG workshop.

It makes sense that our first topic would be workflows. Marketing automation seems to be the most appealing aspect of a system like HubSpot's, but it's also the hardest and most obtuse to grasp.

So, we recruited the sharpest workflow-er we know, Ian Shields of HireVue, to walk everyone through a handful of essential workflows. As he did back in August, Ian delivered big time. Not only did he put together an entertaining presentation, the dude even created a free eBook with tons more info in it.

Seriously, go download it here: http://Hir.vu/workflows

Kristi is a finalist in the Traeger Meat Madness competition. Yeah, all that food was homemade and so, so awesome. Be sure to follow her on Instagram.

If you liked the workshop, you'll probably love our intensives, beginning next month, April 27 at Access Development. These are small groups of 10-12 people, gathered around a conference table, HubSpot portals loaded, sharing ideas and feedback and solving problems together.

First dibs on this event goes to workshop attendees, so be sure to check your email for an invitation. If they prove to be popular and useful, we'll try to arrange more of them.

Some housekeeping:

  • Save the date: On June 1 will be our next next big event, taking place downtown at Club 50 West. While it's a big event, it will be a workshop on the Pillars of Content Marketing. It will be hands on with workbooks and everything. Stay tuned for details.
  • Also plan to join us on June 22 for another workshop - Our friends at SolutionReach have offered to host us. More details coming soon.
  • Interested in speaking? Fill out this form and share your knowledge with our members
  • Join us on Slack, where you can chat with fellow local HubSpotters, get HubSpot help, and even find a new job!

Thanks to everyone who came out and those who continue to support SLCHUG!

And now,  here are the rest of the slides from Ian's presentation.

If you're at all curious about or intimidated by workflows, it's well worth your time.
