For the two years Doc and I have been organizing SLCHUG events, the most frequent request we’ve heard is small groups.
Seems everyone enjoys the bigger events and broader topics, but this is a user group built around a tool. It makes sense that we would have some events that are just deep dives into HubSpot.
So we did. Last month brought a workshop on workflows, and Thursday marked out first ever small group intensive.
It was everything we always thought it would be. And I’m sad we waited so long to organize them!
Twelve HubSpotters gathered in a conference room at Access Development. We brought in Mediterranean food, pulled out our laptops and...just started talking marketing.
Normally, in an event recap post, I’d offer a quick overview of what we covered and you could basically rehash the event through shared slide decks.
That’s not going to happen in this one.
One, it was intentionally informal and relaxed. No playlist or planned order. The conversation and topics just flowed naturally.
Two, we jumped through a lot of different topics. People were throwing out ideas and technical details I’d never heard of.
David Malmborg would punch me if I tried to reconstruct his lessons on UTM tracking URLs here.
These are some of the topics we ran through:
- The new Messages tool
- Email Re-send Workflows
- UTM Tracking
- Lead Flows
- Plain text emails
- Deal stage tracking
- Notification emails
- Email sending domains
- Reducing spam reports
We had beginners, experts and all things in between. A great mix, and hopefully everyone learned a thing or two and shared a thing or two.
So, this isn’t so much of a recap, as much as it is an invitation to the next intensive. We’ll definitely have another (perhaps a couple if the demand is high) in a couple months.
In the meantime, if you’re dying to know about any of the above topics, let me know. I know some smart people that can walk you through any of them.
Have you registered for our June 1 event featuring Justin Champion from HubSpot? This is one you can’t afford to miss! Justin is wicked smart and will break down the most important pieces of content every business needs to generate and close leads.
It’s $10, which is a teeny tiny price to pay for this material. But you’re also going to get a workbook and a killer breakfast.
See you there!
